Vintage Gold Castle Chikusa Hand Painted Saucer 6" Gold Moriage Floral Japan

There's a certain kind of porcelain that only comes out of a curio cabinet on Sunday afternoons, cradling a delicate teacup that's since gone its separate way. This little saucer still carries that quiet, formal charm, even standing alone. This is a Gold Castle Chikusa hand-painted saucer, made in Japan, stamped on the reverse with the maker's mark reading Gold Castle · Hand Painted · Chikusa · Made in Japan. The rim is worked in raised gold moriage beading over a soft teal band, framing hand-painted pink and magenta blossoms with gilded leaf accents the kind of detail that was brushed on by hand. ✦ The Details • Gold Castle Chikusa, Made in Japan • Mid-20th century (Chikusa mark era, Nagoya) • Hand-painted florals with raised gold moriage beading and gilt scrollwork • Teal ground band with cream floral reserves • Approximately 6 inches in diameter • Light age wear consistent with vintage porcelain — some gold rubbing to the rim • Sold as the saucer only, no matching cup
