Buddhist Art Four-Armed Buddha Tibetan Buddha Statue Bronze Old Item Bronze Buddha Statue 15cm
This is a statue of Avalokite?vara with Four Arms (Shihikan'non), widely revered in Tibetan Buddhism. In Tibetan, he is called Chenrezig and is a Bodhisattva symbolizing infinite compassion.
As his name suggests, this statue has four arms (Shihikan'non), each with a sacred meaning. The two central hands: Clasped together in front of the chest (Namaskara Mudra), representing the union of wisdom and method. The outer right hand: Holds a string of prayer beads (crystal mala), symbolizing salvation from the cycle of reincarnation. The outer left hand: Holds a fully bloomed lotus flower, a symbol of purity.
The bottom features a double dorje (Katsuma Kongo) pattern. The double dorje is a powerful ritual implement used in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, formed by crossing two dorjes (vajras) in a cross shape. It is cherished as an amulet that shatters evil spirits and worldly desires, repels misfortune, and enhances good fortune.
As it is an old item, there are signs of rust rather than scratches or dirt.
It makes a rattling sound when shaken sideways.
Your luck might improve!!
