Description
This is an old Showa-era lacquered soup bowl in a wooden box.

It's an auspicious soup bowl with flying cranes, said to bring good luck. The cranes appear to be hand-painted, so no two are exactly alike.

The black lacquer on the inside has discolored, and one lid is missing.

The wooden material is visible where it is chipped. Wooden bowls have the effect of not easily transferring heat.

The protective bag is printed with cloth lining, suggesting this was originally a high-quality soup bowl that required considerable craftsmanship. There is no engraving on the wooden box.

Size: 12 x 5.5 cm

Size with lid: 12 x 8.5 cm
