Edwardian Trinket Casket Grand Tour Satin Cushion Bevelled Glass Heidelberg

Antique French beveled glass jewelry casket featuring a decorative metal frame (ormolu) and a small, raised scene on the lid. The interior is lined with a red velvet  intended for displaying rings or other small trinkets. Seems to date from the late 19th century (Victorian era). These were often sold as Grand Tour souvenirs from European cities. This particular one is from Heidelberg in Germany.  There are 4 feet, however one is twisted a bit, however the casket still stands just fine. The piece itself shows its age in the wear, and that is reflected in the price.
